How do they function?
Air to water pumps extract heat from the air that surrounds them, transferring it via a heat exchanger to the water that is circulating through the heat pump. This water can be used either in your water tank or swimming pool. Our Calor Verde exchanger is constructed from titanium enabled to withstand the possible acid and chemical attack associated with pool water.

Generally heat pumps are comprised of a fan, compressor, heat exchanger and evaporator. The only electricity required is that needed by compressor to enable the refrigerant to be compressed and then vaporized and the small amount needed by the fan to produce a constant stream of air over the evaporation coils whilst the unit functions.
The heat exchanger operates by drawing heat from the ambient atmosphere and then heating the system's refrigerant liquid until it becomes vapour, This vapour is flows through the compressor raising the temperature. This gas is then condensed back to liquid state which causes the heat to be released.
